So, Why did Gemma, owner of Gem Media, really open a Tanning salon?

It all started nearly three years ago when Gemma launched her first business, Gem Media Marketing Consultancy, created especially to support start-ups and small businesses with their branding, communication and design. With a vast client base in a variety of sectors, Gem Media soon expanded, which was when Gem Media Events was born.

Gem Media Events specialises in bringing an event to life from a blank canvas and has created Fashion Show MK and Diamonds and Deals networking event as a result.

As you can imagine having two businesses keeps Gemma very busy! Although, not busy enough apparently…

... Because Gemma now owns Evoke Tanning in Fenny Stratford, Bletchley!

So, how did this all come about?

Last year, Gem Media started working with the company Evoke in Stony Stratford. We re-designed the brand in line with Evoke's core values and to match the other concepts of the business; fitness, mental health and confidence.

It was a project we really enjoyed and in true GM style, we soon became very passionate for the business and developed a great relationship with the business owner, Amy Thurley.

A new brand helping people feel more confident is what the world needs more of, so we continued to conjure ideas and ways to tell everyone about “Evoke” Tanning, Fitness & Beauty.

Gem Media built a website to integrate all services and designed relevant marketing collateral from banners, business cards and flyers and seeked PR opportunities for Amy to promote her business. Evoke soon grew with a healthy client list.

Months later, Amy found out a local tanning shop was up for sale and the fire ignited in her eyes! With the limitations and constraints of time and money, Gemma's nature and passion for helping business owners resulted in offering a partnership.

What’s happened to Gem Media?

Whilst a lot of Marketing will need to be invested into Evoke Tanning, this will remain a separate entity and Gem Media are still based in their offices ready to promote new and existing clients!
