Vegan at The Vardo!

Vegan-ambassador

I'd been following The Vardo on the gram for a while and it's Instagrammable pink walls and green ivy decor was really pulling me in, with the main benefit that it‘s a Plant based cafe.

As I'm on a mission to become a Vegan ambassador, I set out to review Plant based independent restaurants and The Vardo was top of my list.

I became vegan during lockdown, for the reason that dairy made me feel unwell and I cut out meat because simply put I followed my brothers footsteps! Before you knew it my whole family and husband became vegan! Six months later, we have all never felt better, leaner and healthier...

When we arrived to The Vardo, we ordered our coffees, whilst reading the sustainable quote on the wall.

Not only do we feel better as Vegan, we are also helping the planet 🌎 ✌️

The member of staff advised us to visit the other part of the building where there is a seating area.

We entered the seating area and it was very small, minimalistic, with socially distant tables. The menu was on a chalkboard with limited choices.

I went for the burrito bowl and my mum went for the eggless sandwich and mushrooms on toast. (Mum was extra hungry 😅).

The food was absolutely delicious and exceeded our expectations. When you have a very limited diet, it can be hard to eat out or on the go, so to be at a restaurant who can 100% cater for you is very enjoyable.

The seating area was not crowded with people and the staff were not too intrusive. It was comfortable and chilled out, just like lunch with your mum should be. ☺️

Lunch for the two of us was fantastic value at under ÂŁ20 too!

Vardo also offer plants, Yoga sessions and other cool events. Check out their social media for updates and if you enjoy dairy-free and meat-free dishes, then I’d definitely recommend lunch here.
